You’ve heard it said, “Life happens while you’re making other plans”; well, we’ve had a lot of “life” happening at Wellspring these last few months. If you have not already heard, we wanted to make you aware of some changes to our specially modified enterprises. And, if you have heard, we wished to try to provide clarification. In either event, we wished to share some additional timely information.
Over the last several years, our Wellspring Café, Bakery and Art Studio have become the public-facing hallmarks of our innovative program, thanks to your amazing support. However, due to a host of reasons beyond our control, we will no longer be able to operate our legacy enterprises exactly as we did in the past. The good news is that our STARS’ experience of their enterprises will be mostly unchanged. We look forward to conceiving, developing and executing a series of new enterprises as circumstances permit. Meanwhile, below is a brief explanation of the changes to our legacy enterprises.
Although we had planned to keep our café open and begin paying our STARS, we recently learned that our generous hosts at the Emporium have been navigating changes in their own business and now have need for the café space. As a result, our Wellspring Café will close on Friday, September 27th. For more than 3 ½ years, the Boman Family, owners of the Emporium in Castle Rock, have generously offered us the use of their fully equipped catering kitchen and professionally decorated dining room FOR FREE. And treated us and our STARS with absolute grace this entire time. We are forever indebted to them and their wonderful staff for allowing us this incredible opportunity to prove to ourselves what our STARS are capable when we fully support and stretch them beyond our and perhaps their own comfort zone. We look forward to seeing what our next opportunities to stretch and support our STARS look like within the enterprise realm.
In the meantime, we would love to have all of you join us on Monday, September 23rd, for a “Farewell to the Wellspring Café” from 6 – 8 pm at the Emporium to thank the Bomans, the wonderful staff and vendors there, our wonderful Cafe staff, and to share memories of this extraordinary place and time. Wine and cheese will be served. Please RSVP at this link http://evite.me/GJSn9xZNJp by September 16th, so that we can be sure to adequately stock food and drink for this special celebration.
While we are very sad to close this door, we are reminded of God’s incredible provision since Wellspring’s humble beginnings, and we absolutely trust Him to guide us to the next golden opportunities that, no doubt, await us and our STARS. After all, the word “Wellspring” means “a place where something begins.”
