February is a time to celebrate love and at Wellspring, love is knit into our community. Every day at Wellspring is an opportunity to spread love and kindness, support one another, and be a part of a community where people, both with and without disabilities learn and grow together. There is so much to celebrate!
Friendship & Unicorns
Dianna and Beverly

At any given moment at Wellspring there are exchanges that reflect the kindness and love shared in our community. Catherine Smith (Program Teacher) happened to capture this lovely moment between Dianna and Beverly in December of last year and shared the story below.
“Dianna is thoughtful with her earnings and often chooses not to spend on things she loves. Today at ‘Help and Hope,’ she spotted two unicorn stuffed animals. Knowing how much Bev loves unicorns, she decided to buy not just one, but two—so they could be twins—and surprise her friend. She even requested a gift bag to make it extra special.
At the end-of-day, Dianna patiently waited for Bev. The pictures tell the rest of the story—Dianna hands Bev the gift, and Bev’s excitement is unmistakable as she opens the bag to find twin unicorns inside. Her joyful reaction says it all. Meanwhile, Dianna beams with happiness, watching her friend’s delight.”
This simple yet powerful story is a reminder that generosity isn’t about how much we give, but the love and thoughtfulness behind it.
We Love our Friends & Neighbors at Pedego

When Rick Crabtree, owner of Pedego Electric Bikes in downtown Castle Rock visited our coffee shop, he felt a strong connection to our community and a desire to support it. Pedego has a commitment to putting people first and Rick did just that by generously donating an electric bike to our organization.
Carl, who recently moved into Unity on Park, was the perfect recipient! Years ago, Carl was one of the first people to sign up for our bike program in partnership with CRPD. Through this class, he become more familiar with the Castle Rock trail system and more confident on a bicycle.
On February 3rd, Carl met with Rick at Pedego’s Castle Rock store and was presented with his very own cruiser, helmet, and bike lock. He received a personalized training and was encouraged to bring his bike into the shop any time.
Now that he is living independently, having a way to get around town is essential to Carl and with his own Pedego Electric Bike he has the freedom to explore and embrace his independence.
Bowl-a-Rama
Registration Open!

Join us on Saturday, April 12th for our 3rd Annual Bowl-a-Rama, a fun-filled event where our community comes together to support Wellspring through peer-to-peer fundraising and BOWLING!
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a campaign where individuals raise money for a cause by creating their own fundraising pages and reaching out to their networks for donations. Each participant promotes the cause, often through social media or email, and collects contributions from friends, family, and colleagues. The goal is to spread awareness and support Wellspring!
This year, our goal is to raise $100,000—and we can’t do it without you! Bowl-a-Rama is your chance to share your Wellspring story, rally support, and make a meaningful impact.
The best part? We’ll celebrate together on the lanes! Registration is open, and there are plenty of ways to get involved.
Let’s roll toward our goal!
