S.T.A.R.S!
I have found that spending time with our STARS brings such encouragement to me. Recently, volunteering in the Bakery I heard one of our STARS say to another, “Great job!” in reference to her mixing up a recipe. She responded with a “thank you” and of course a big smile. Often, I find that I my spirits are lifted by spending time with them. With their beautiful smiles, life seems a bit less complicated and stressful. Truly, our STARS make a difference in one’s life just by their very presence. I am often reminded of their simplicity, their kindness and care for one another. Life just isn’t complicated to them; they are free in many ways. The remind me of Matthew 5:3, 5, 8, “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven…. Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” If you haven’t already, I encourage you to be blessed volunteering with our STARS. Your life will never be the same!
