We are so excited to announce that the Castle Rock Collective’s Grand Opening is next Friday, September 17th at 9:00am! We’re located at 207 Perry Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104 (right across the street from The Emporium). Be sure to mark your calendars and come out to support the STARS as we introduce our wonderful, beautiful Wellspring & Co. Coffee shop & World Orphans Market boutique to the town.
This is a major step forward for Wellspring as we advance our mission of empowering our STARS to participate fully in our community. They are our employees, but we will also count on a strong volunteer corps so that the STARS feel supported and empowered in their role.
The Castle Rock Collective is an innovative partnership between Wellspring and World Orphans, an international nonprofit also headquartered in Castle Rock whose mission is to empower single parents in countries overseas so that children are not sent to orphanages. The Collective is a unique space that combines a coffee shop with a boutique shopping experience. Wellspring & Co. Coffee will feature a limited menu of coffee drinks and bakery products made by the STARS. The World Orphans Market will sell hand-made jewelry, clothing, and handbags made by international artisans as well as pottery and artwork created by the STARS. All proceeds from the Collective will go to either empowering STARS or to empowering vulnerable families overseas. The slogan for the Collective is “Woven together to empower,” because both Wellspring & World Orphans share the value of empowering the constituents they serve.
It has been a whirlwind to get to this point. And we did not do this alone. In addition to the significant investment of time from World Orphans staff, we have been blessed with a dedicated team of volunteers who helped us manage every detail of this undertaking. Many of the contractors who worked on the remodel of the space did so without charging for their time. Castle Oaks Church members stepped up through a special fundraising appeal, and their generous donations enabled us to purchase the equipment needed for the coffee shop’s kitchen. Hundreds of volunteer hours went into painting, cleaning, polishing and decorating. It is truly remarkable to feel this community coming together to pull this off.
Now we’ve made it! Our grand opening will span 2 days—September 17th & 18th. We’re open from 9:00am – 2:00pm both days. We can’t wait to see you there!
