Heatwave Success!
Dear STARS, families, friends, and sponsors,
I just want to say a huge THANK YOU for participating in this year’s Walk to Empower/Summer Celebration. Even though we needed to postpone our original date, Heatwave was an incredible success! We had over 200 people show up on June 18th to walk and celebrate with us. It was so much fun to see all of your smiling faces and watch our community engaging with one another. Together, we raised over $63,000!
Speaking of the STARS, they did an amazing job through their peer-to-peer fundraising efforts. The STARS collectively raised 47% of our overall amount– that’s over $29,000 that came as a direct result of their efforts!
Lastly, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our community partners who made this event possible. St. Andrew United Methodist Church was a more than gracious host, letting us use their facility for the entirety of Heatwave (they even grilled our food for us!). To our sponsors, your support means more than we could ever express. Thank you for being a part of our community and investing in us relationally and financially. Future Financial Planning with Thrivent
Wellspring is very excited to announce a new partnership with Thrivent! Thrivent is a holistic financial services organization driven by a higher purpose, helping you make the most of all you’ve been given. As a part of this new relationship, Thrivent would like to extend a special invitation for a free informational dinner to Wellspring’s families to come and learn more about financial instruments and planning specifically designed to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mark Your Calendar for the Car Show!
Once again, the Colorado Car Addicts, a local club that “loves and respects all makes and models and general car addicts,” is doing their annual Car Show, with all funds raised going to support Wellspring. This is the 7th year in a row that they are doing this for us, and we want to show them our love and appreciation!
So, mark your calendars for Saturday, August 20th from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Outlets of Castle Rock (5050 Factory Shops Blvd.)! STARS will get to pick their very own “Best in Show” car that will be awarded to the owner. We’ve got some fun surprises in store for that day, you won’t want to miss it!
Creative Connections with Kids
Wellspring’s Art Therapy classes are enjoying Creative Connections and this Summer and all sessions are kid friendly. In June Wellspring STARS and participants created unique pieces of artwork and we are looking forward to more sessions! The next Creative Connections are on July 18th and 19th- all materials are provided at no cost to you. Space fills up quickly, so register today!
