Summertime at Wellspring!
Summer at Wellspring Community is quite a fantastic experience. Our STARS are enjoying garden class, swimming and other outdoor activities that the summer weather allows us. We are blessed to have more STARS ( Specially Talented Adults Raising Standards) join us over the summer months. This growth is, in part, due to our Summer Program for high school and transition students who can only join us for June and July. As a growing organization, we give a lot of thought to the impact of bringing more STARS into our community. At Wellspring we want to grow, but grow intentionally and with INTEGRITY. It is our responsibility to grow in a way that impacts our STARS in positive ways. To accommodate increased enrollment we have hired more staff and increased our volunteer corps to provide the support our STARS need in their various activities and help maintain a positive environment.
Our professional (and, I might also add, awesome) team work hard to define and maintain high expectations of ourselves and each other. We have determined, that no matter our enrollment, our STARS will be treated with RESPECT and feel the DIGNITY they so deserve. Our STARS will be extended GRACE when an unexpected behavior is observed and they will be provided the opportunity to grow from the experience. Our STARS will feel God’s love through our SERVICE and GOOD STEWARDSHIP. My personal prayer for our STARS, every week, is that each individual leaves each day with a smile on their face and a story to tell their loved ones when they get home. I feel confident, with these proactive approaches to growth, we are meeting these expectations more and more each day.
