Over the past month, I’ve had the privilege of hearing from new residents and their families as they’ve taken their first steps toward joining the Unity on Park community. From processing applications to signing leases and securing deposits, the excitement and anticipation have been palpable. I’ve shared in the joy as individuals like Damon, Zach, Rachel, and many others have embraced this new chapter of independence with enthusiasm and hope. What began as a vision more than two years ago has steadily come to life through careful planning, collaboration, and dedication. Now, we are just weeks away from seeing that vision fully realized.

The Unity on Park, a unique collaboration between Wellspring Housing and the Douglas County Housing Partnership, will open its doors this Fall. Final renovations are being completed and residents are looking forward to moving in starting November 1^st. This project is the result of an incredible number of people and organizations coming together to create an affordable housing solution for adults with I/DD in an integrated setting. And Wellspring Community has come alongside the housing solution with an innovative Independent Living Program that will offer residential services to individuals living at Unity.  

We at Wellspring could not be more excited for this next adventure. We know that communities are better when adults with I/DD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) are supported in environments where they can thrive, learn, and grow independently. Unity on Park stands as a beacon of inclusivity, showing what’s possible when people come together with a shared vision of belonging and opportunity.

As we prepare for move-in day, we are reminded that this is just the beginning of a journey where individuals will not only find housing but also a true sense of home and community. With the dedication and passion of everyone involved, Unity on Park will be a place of connection, empowerment, and lifelong learning.

A grand opening celebration is being planned for the Spring, and we will be sure to let you all know the date as soon as it is scheduled. Stay tuned for more updates—we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with all of you! Together, we are creating a future full of possibilities.
