Love has been at the heart of Wellspring since the very beginning, rooted in a mother’s determination for her daughter to have a big and beautiful life. Now, all these years later love shows up in ordinary and powerful ways: through a shared laugh, a high-five, a dance party, and everyday acts of joy and empowerment.
Families entrust us with the care of their loved one. Our staff and volunteers choose to spend their time engaged in work that calls to their hearts. Our donors invest in opportunity and belonging. Members of our programs demonstrate that same care. They cheer each other on, create thoughtful gifts, and advocate for themselves and others. At Wellspring, love is something that we practice.
In Partying with our Senior Friends class, participants build meaningful relationships with seniors living in assisted living by playing games, sharing ice cream, and swapping stories.
People in Canine Care Crew visit with senior dogs and craft toys for Humane Colorado offering comfort and companionship.
Through Community Crockpot Souper Suppers, participants work together to host and make meals for residents at Unity on Park.
Those in Project Hope volunteer their time alternating between Project C.U.R.E and SECOR to sort and stock food ensuring people receive essential resources.
Love shapes our culture and strengthens our programs. It reminds us that the smallest acts can have an extraordinary impact.
In last month’s newsletter, we announced that we’ll be moving to a new location this spring and are thrilled by all the opportunities our own space will create. We recently gathered families and staff for a town hall to share in the excitement and answer questions. Our new space will be more accessible, feature refreshed classrooms and work areas, strengthen our programming, and allow us to expand opportunities for participants to learn, connect, and thrive.
Each month, members of our program are nominated for an award recognizing their hard work, kindness, and participation at Wellspring.
Michelle has been working hard in dance and has participated well in Soulful Studio. She was fearful of the hurdles after her tangle with them but has done a leap every week since. She has shown more patience with others. Michelle puts her heart into art projects and is always helpful to her peers and to me. I love how she represents us to the community members that meet at the church. She gives warm, sincere greetings and smiles to everyone there, and they enjoy seeing her.
Dalton is truly a gentle soul and one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet. He consistently stands out for his kindness, positive attitude, and strong participation in program activities. He is always so sweet and supportive of his peers. Dalton actively engages in class, tries his best in activities, and brings a positive energy that lifts those around him. Dalton is very deserving of this recognition, and we love having him at Wellspring!
Each month, a different Wellspring class will share a wish, wisdom, or something to brighten your day. This month’s contribution comes from our Online Program where participants experience the heart of our in-person program from a flexible, virtual format.
